The debates focus on the topics which form the monastic curriculum and reflect all levels of the students in shedra from beginner to advanced.
The 14 adjudicators, who judge the knowledge and competency of the teams of monks, are khenpos drawn from all the participating shedras. Seven are assigned to judge the higher level topics of Validity (Tsema) and Prajnaparamita (Pharchin), and seven judges assess the lower level topics of Collected Topics (Dudra), Types of Evidence (Tarig) and Mind and Awareness (Lorig).
On the third day, the first session comprised debate on Validity (Tsema), and in the second session the monks debated on Mind and Awareness (Lorig).
